CHORUS________________________________

He takes ONE STEP / but he wants to take two
ONE STEP / to get a better view
ONE STEP / is all it takes to move
ONE STEP!

CHAPTER 1________________________________

He wakes up! / but he never goes to sleep
He's filled up / with work to his knees
His sight is low so he just can't see /
anything more than beyond his feets

He's facing / the problems alone
He's racing / but just on his own
His eyes are blind so he just won't know,
how to learn about this world unknown

He's feeling alright / But it's bleeding inside
But who can tell where to go frome here?

He says NO! / But the problem goes on
He stays strong / looking for someone
to hold on to / ... could that someone be you?

If you don't know / what you're running from
Then you don't know where to go...
He takes ONE STEP, cause ONE STEP is ONE STEP to move along.

CHORUS

CHAPTER 2________________________________

He looks at some internet-sites.
He knows that he's caught for tonight.
He's stuck on a path on the World Wide Web.
...too many tabs until he goes to bed.

He sits there / the time flies by
In his lonely chair / and its half past nine
Just some hours more, then he'll close the door /
always been afraid of asking for some more

He asks himself / Where do I come from?
He looks at dad / and then looks at mom
But the smile they gave took his voice away /
now he knows, he's here to stay

He goes to sleep, but he sleeps awake.
Is there more to life than the steps he takes?
Is there anyone else looping through the same days...?
He's stuck in a pattern too hard to break.

CHORUS

...is the stress and the pain that flows inside...

CHAPTER 3________________________________

He wakes up! / but he never goes to sleep
He's filled up / with questions so deep
His sight is low so he just won't see /
anything more than beyond his dreams

He's facing / the problems alone
He's racing / but just on his own
His eyes are blind so he just won't see,
any possibility to break free

His friend turned his world upside-down /
He moved away, far from town
He sends some mail / but it's not the same
as the time when they used to play videogames

Then he does what he does best
He writes a song, this time about himself
-- in third person --
and that will make it ONE STEP...
